Steven J Kaufman will today receive the “Mensch of the Year” award from the Solomon Society. This fellowship of Jewish men who do good in society is part of the Jewish Federation & Family Services (JFFS) philanthropy group. The event will be held at Anaheim’s City National Grove as a fundraiser featuring two comedians: Elon Gold and Gary Gulman.
According to Kenny Beard, Solomon Society chairperson, Kaufman was selected to receive the award as he:
“hits every point of what a Mensch is; he leads by his own example. He is someone who serves ‘beyond the call of duty’ and has made a significant impact on Solomon Society, Jewish Federation & Family Services, the Jewish community, and Orange County at large.”
Kaufman engages in a substantial amount of pro bono legal work through JFFS. He is also a founding member and Board of Directors member of the Orange County Jewish Bar Association. One of the main causes he fights for is the welfare of children via family law, school board memberships, presidential roles in educational institutes and directors.
The Solomon Society’s mission is inspired by the “wisdom and leadership of King Solomon.” It focuses on: families, children, Israel and more. In addition it is a community entity offering “assistance when needed and support for Jews in Orange County, Israel and around the world.”
